Celery Juice

I have never been one to jump on “trends” … especially when it comes to anything health/wellness. I actually prefer to NOT do what everyone else is doing. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with a autoimmune disorder, lupus. I also am a carrier for the EBV Virus. You can read all about that journey, HERE. Both of these health issues + acne were my main reasons for giving this a try. You will be able to read more below on where I found my information.

So, around the end of December 2018 I started seeing all the rage about drinking celery juice and the amazing benefits that can come from it. With it being something so simple and all natural I decided to give it a try. I honestly had thought about it, even attempted it one time, but didn’t own a juicer so I gave up. HA! Then my birthday rolled around and I told Ricky all I wanted was a juicer! Low and behold, guess what he got me for my birthday?

So, I’ve been a juicer since the end of December. What really “sold” me on giving it a try was seeing all of the testimonies of people getting clear skin. I mean cases of severe acne clearing up after weeks-months. Growing up I never struggled with acne. I’m 33 and my skin is in the absolute worse condition it has ever been in. I’m using amazing topical skincare products, I know and believe my issue is 100% internal! Between my skin and my autoimmune stuff I have gone Gluten Free/Dairy Free and am really focusing on eating really clean.

So everyday for the past 30+ days I wake up and the and very FIRST thing I do is head to the juicer to make my celery juice. I drink 12-16oz every morning before I do anything else! It’s very important you drink FRESH juice every morning, before you eat or drink anything else, after you drink your celery juice wait 15min before consuming anything else!

Over the last 30 days I have seen a improvement in my skin, it’s definitely not clear by any means, but overall I feel it’s looking and feeling better! The biggest improvement I have seen is my digestion and regularity with visiting the restroom. Just keeping it real. Years ago I did some research and statistics showed OVER 80% of America lives constipated/not regular… it’s been years, so that stat may have changed, but out of that 80% the percentage of women was extremely high. SO, if this is a area you struggle in I highly suggest trying it just for that alone.

I get asked a lot how much celery I have to use each day, and it honestly depends on the size of the stalk. If its a smaller/thinner one it usually takes me a full stalk, if larger I sometimes will have some pieces left over.

Organic is best. If you can’t do organic make sure you wash the celery before juicing.

Another huge question, “How does it taste?”

So, to be honest…. it taste like celery. HA. But, really.. it’s pretty bland, not much taste. I wouldn’t suggest sipping on it, just shoot it back. Because of taste people ask all the time if they can add stuff to it, to see the best results, the research I have read says to only use celery. By mixing in other things you don’t get the full benefits of the celery.

CELERY JUICE TIPS: (provided by Medical Medium)

If you want to heal and improve your health quickly and efficiently, follow this routine:

* Every morning, drink roughly 16 ounces of celery juice on an empty stomach. Make sure it’s fresh, plain celery juice with no other ingredients. Celery juice is a medicinal, not a caloric drink, so you’ll still need breakfast afterward to power you through the morning. Simply wait at least 15 minutes after drinking your celery juice before consuming anything else.

* If you’re sensitive and 16 ounces is too much, start with a smaller amount and work your way up.

* Use organic celery whenever possible. If you’re using conventional celery, be sure to wash it especially well before juicing.

* If you find the taste of straight celery juice too strong, you can juice one cucumber and/or one apple with the celery. This is a great option as you get adjusted to the flavor. As you get used to it, keep increasing the ratio of celery; the greatest benefits come when celery juice is consumed on its own.

Plain, fresh celery juice is one of the most powerful healing juices available to us. This clean, green drink is the very best way to start your day. Make this juice a part of your daily routine, and soon you won’t want to go a day without it!

Ingredients:
1 bunch celery

Directions:
Rinse the celery and run it through a juicer. Drink immediately for best results.

Alternatively, you can chop the celery and blend it in a high-speed blender until smooth. Strain well and drink immediately.

Sharing my $50 juicer below, we started with a more affordable option. Juicers can get up into the $300+ range, I personally wasn’t ready to spend that. I love that this one is affordable and so far has done everything I need it to do!
