My 2023 Haircare Routine

September 28, 2023

My hair journey has been one that I’ve been open about for the last few years. I’ve had long blonde locks with extensions and now keep it more natural in a dark chestnut color, extension-free. One of my main priorities this year has been healthy hair growth, so I’ve really nailed down a solid hair routine and gone through many products trying to find the best of the best. Not only do I want my hair to LOOK good, but feel good, too. Here’s a round-up of everything I’ve fallen in love with this year – it’s everything I currently use for haircare.

My Current Haircare Routine

I’m excited to share the haircare routine that has helped with the growth shown below! This reflects April 2023-September 2023.

my growth from my current haircare routine

The first product I’ll rave about is Nutrafol. I take 4 every single night and have for the last 6 months. I also use the Nutrafol Microbond once a week to get rid of buildup on my scalp. The other product I use consistently that isn’t actually placed on my hair is Modere Liquid Collagen. I’ve used this for four years now and I never miss a dose! Take two tablespoons at bedtime every night for the best results. Also – use code MAGEN to save!

When I wash my hair, my go-to is Amika shampoo and Glimmr Hair Mask as a conditioner. I’ll use a hair massager to really get the product into my roots and moisturize my scalp. Post-wash, I like to use Incommon Beauty Magic Myst for detangling and heat protection (especially on blow-drying days). In addition on blow-drying days, I use WOW Dream Coat. It helps smooth out my hair. When I do wash my hair, I use Olaplex #3 hair oil on the ends of my hair for extra hair protection and to encourage growth. Lastly, at night, my go-to is Divi Hair Serum. I use it by massaging into my scalp with the hair massager.

Some of the products I use on a weekly basis are grapeseed oil and rosemary oil. I’ll use rosemary on my scalp and grapeseed oil on the rest of my hair. After I apply, I’ll use a silk hair bonnet to lock in the moisture overnight. It pairs perfectly with my silk pillowcase, which helps protect it from static and tangles.

The last thing I want to share is a product that I’m super excited to try (and will report back!!). This Premium Powder comes with a ton of reviews on fast hair growth (someone even mentioned 3 inches in 1 month).

My Favorite Hair Tools

There are a few tried and true hair tools I can’t go without! Firstly, the Gimme Beauty thick hair brush! I have used this for years and won’t go back. In addition, the Gimme Beauty fine hair hair ties are my go-to when I’m pulling my hair back.

For drying, I use a Dyson hair dryer or the Airwrap. Dyson is my fave brand for blow-drying because I’ve had the best results keeping my hair healthy while exposing it to heat.

When I curl, I use the GHD Curling Iron; for straightening I opt for their Straightener. I have also recently started using the Beach Waver for soft, subtle waves.
